Welcome to Volunteer Kilimanjaro.

Karibu! Volunteer Kilimanjaro is a humanitarian volunteer tourism organization in Tarakea, Tanzania, on the East Coast of Africa. As a socially-responsible business, Volunteer Kilimanjaro is dedicated not only to offering visitors a unique and personal volunteer experience, but also to sustainably supporting the local community. Read feedback from our volunteers here. One of Volunteer Kilimajaro’s directors was born and raised in a town called Tarakea, at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Tarakea and the surrounding Rombo District are home to many schools, nonprofits and local organizations that are always in need of assistance. In order to help fulfill the needs of these organizations, we have developed a volunteer program where participants can lend their time and talents to the local community, and receive a genuine cultural experience in return. While this website offers examples of our volunteer and cultural opportunities, Volunteer Kilimanjaro is dedicated to working with you to match your interests with the needs of community organizations.
